Today’s company was founded by the Great Grandfather of our current Managing Director, Charles Timony, making the business truly a family business & a 4th generation family business at that – something which he is extremely proud to be part of.
The company was originally known as “The Fire Appliance Company”, which dates back to pre-WW1. Unfortunately the exact date has been lost over the years.
We became a Limited company in 1975 & adopted the name “Fire Queen” at the same time. The name was associated with a brand of very early, quite possibly the first; commercially available, hand held fire extinguisher. We then became known as Fire Queen Limited Inc. The Fire Appliance Company, which was subsequently shortened to Fire Queen Limited.
Previously having offices & workshops in central Manchester & Stockport, our current base was converted for our use in 1987.
Fire Queen Limited was initially a Fire Extinguisher Installation, Servicing & Maintenance company, operating truly nationwide from The Scottish Isles to The Channel Islands, to over the sea in both Northern Ireland & the Republic of Ireland. In 2007 we identified both the need & demand for us to diversify our business into the Fire Systems sector; this meant a thorough review of our systems, comprehensive research into applicable British standards & accreditations, searching for new suppliers, acquiring personnel & tooling to allow us to take the ethos of our successful Fire Extinguisher business & expand into the Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting industry. This move was driven largely by the desire of our existing clients because of how happy they were with our customer service & attention to detail. Many years on, it is clear the strategy has been successful & our customer base continues to grow, whilst maintaining the importance we place on customer service & being able to offer the ‘one-stop-shop’ option & the cost savings doing so can bring.
We now benefit from generations of accumulated experience & knowledge, providing Fire Protection Services & Fire Safety Products throughout the UK & Ireland. We are today, as we have always been, committed to providing excellent customer service, by highly trained staff, offering competitive contracts & prices, to all types of customers, businesses & buildings.
