Dry Riser Maintenance
Fire Queen carries out service maintenance to all types of dry riser systems in most areas of the UK. Our engineers are fully qualified Technicians with over 40 years experience in Dry Riser Maintenance.
Dry Rising Mains are intended for use by the Fire Brigade enabling the rapid employment of water to help fight and prevent the spread of fire. Dry Risers are uncharged mains fitted into staircase enclosures or other suitable positions. Outlet valves are fixed on each floor and inlets fitted at ground level to enable the Fire Brigade to connect to the water supply quickly.
Dry Risers require regular maintenance to ensure that they will work in the unfortunate case of a Fire. Since 1989, it has been the responsibility of a buildings owner or occupier to keep systems in optimum working order. The system tests are designed to simulate the conditions and stresses should the Fire Brigade make similar connection, and to ensure that if such a connection is necessary, the system will transfer water at sufficient flow rate and pressure without leaks or pressure loss. In addition to the static pressure test, the system requires inspection and operation of all inlets, landing valves, drain valves, door hinges and locking arrangements.
Fire Queen Limited has gained vast experience in testing all configurations of Dry Riser systems in many different designs of buildings and applications. A purpose built test rig is used which enables the service team to access the system with the minimum of inconvenience to the building occupiers. Our vehicles also carry a water supply and pumping arrangements enabling the static pressure test to be carried out from the outside of a building in a fraction of the time it would take to simulate the test using hand pumps and a water supply from the building. This procedure also minimises any risk to health and safety, which may be caused by the running of hoses through the inside of a building.
A number of service plan options are available including a fully inclusive fixed budget. We will discuss your needs and propose the most suitable solution.
